Just got to the town near my fishing cabin in DEEP East Texas. This place has a lot of trucks, even for Texas. And I feel like a city slicker in the loaded Expedition.
Picking up my Ranger bass boat tomorrow from the mechanic after a rebuilt carb. Should fly like mother. 65 MPH on ze water.

No. About mid-east. Big lake on the state line halfway up between the Gulf and Oklahoma.

FYI I only get cell service when I'm in town, which is about once per day (grocery run like I'm doing now, or Dairy Queen run).

Ah got it. My Texan friend always talks about how cool South Padre Island is. I've never been there

Does it feel kind of liberating? I'd imagine it's kind of relaxing to not have service most of the time

Huh. Apparently, I can intermittently pick up 4G signal on my back porch overlooking the lake. Not sure how I feel about that, as not having cell service IS quite liberating. Fortunately, I don't get signal inside, so that's good.
Honestly, I've never been to South Padre before. I always went in interstate road trips in college, and there aren't any NICE hotels there to entice me to visit now. I was looking for an upscale spa to send my wife to earlier this year at SPI. They have none.
